​Gary's 75th Birthday Party 07/16

On a perfect late Saturday afternoon Susie Melton carried off a huge 75th birthday surprise party for husband Gary at their beautiful wooded home-site. Among those in on the surprise were a number of Corvette Indy members along with people from the Melton's church and the couple's children and families. Gary had been at the morning's Drive N Dunk and then one of their sons had kept Gary away during the afternoon party setup. He didn't know that anything was up until he saw the balloons on their mailbox and was greeted by the line of cars along the driveway and a circle Corvettes in front of the house in their special parking location. He then headed to the backyard where he saw the beautifully designed cake and the huge group that was there to greet him. As the party progressed there were many appetizers and then salads and chicken for a great picnic style dinner. During this time Gary went around to greet everyone along with giving some tours of their house. The house is only around 6 years old as they replaced their original one of 40+years with Susie's 'dream house' which would fit that definition for anyone. Along with his White C6 coupe Gary also owns a '71 coupe which will soon be out and about. Even though he worked for Ford for 42 years he has always been a Chevy and Corvette guy at heart. The party went well in to the evening as everyone enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and comradeship of being among friends on Gary's special day.
