Indiana / Michigan Labor Day Weekend 09/03-05
As in the past few years the Indiana and Michigan NCCC Regions held a 21 event low speed autocross at Tire Rack in South Bend over the labor day weekend. The club's racers headed North on Friday to enjoy the weekend with this report from Tammy on Saturday which was Day 1:
Yesterday, DeWitt's, Coolidge's & Robison's all headed up to South Bend and had dinner at Olive Garden. Today racers enjoyed great weather not to hot or humid, we didn't break for lunch to help catch up on the 45 minute delay at start however they did provide sloppy joes, a couple of salads & desserts to all racers & workers!
Close ups are CI drivers, Butch (in my car), Cathy (Frank didn't drive), Duane & Tanner (new Corvette Indy members transferring from Lafayette CC) and I worked in staging all day.
Day 2: Luke set up the track and they ran in the opposite direction as normal and it left not much room to stage as they exited out the normal start...and the tight finish lead to lots of hit cones! I did not have time to take pics, lack of workers and the change of the track effected staging and it was very hectic. I will look on Facebook and see what other pics may be posted.
Day 3: pics attached Luke set up track again and the direction was still reverse our normal start but with the overall track shortened, the finish was spread out a little and the start moved up, to allow for better staging. It made for a faster day!
