Lapham's 3rd Annual Winter Party
Erika's prediction about having their party "come hell or high water" came true on the rescheduled date of January 25. The "high water" didn't happen as the predicted snow storm was well over by noon, which allowed for the roads to get cleared but somewhat slick in spots from blowing snow. Even with the less than optimum weather there were 32 members in attendance. Hosts Bill & Erika L along with Junior their cat greeted the party goers of Butch & Tammy D, Jim & Shelley N, Bill & Cheryl R, Terry S & Susie H, Rich & Suzanne B, Jim & Judi A, Wylie & Rita E, Jim & Bonnie S, Al & Terri F, Rich & Machelle P, Dick & Bonnie P, Doug & Arminta I, Frank & Cathy C, Greg & Donna B, Sarah Lee, and Not Governor Barry R. The amount of food was plentiful with many homemade specialties that Erika needs the recipes of for the Newsletter! The range of food was varied to cover those who had not eaten dinner to the ones that just came for dessert and drink and no one went home hungry or thirsty. With the Rolex 24 hour on to keep with the club's Corvette heritage, discussions were many and varied across a full range of topics. For Dick the Michigan Michigan State basketball game was put on upstairs so he could keep apprized of the score. The group stayed well into the evening with the late stayers enjoying Saturday Night Live for awhile after watching the news. A few were enjoying the recliners so much that they might have stayed all night, but finally said their last goodbye's and headed for the slick roads and home.
