Stream Cliff & Beyond 7/9 & 7/10
The Drive'N'Dine to Stream Cliff was a great success! A very enthusiastic group made the weekend most enjoyable. In appreciation for our showing our cars to their guests, Stream Cliff rewarded us with free desserts at lunch, and complimentary glasses of wine in the afternoon. They really want us to return next year. I think the entire group is eager to go again. The lunch was excellent as always.
Late in the afternoon, we drove to Madison, IN, and had time to sit at the Ohio river's edge, soak in its charm and relax before going to our delicious dinner at the Key West Shrimp House. The menu included all sorts of items, not just seafood. We then retired to our hotel in Scottsburg, IN.
After breakfast Sunday morning, several of us returned to Madison to see the sights. Tours of the Lanier Mansion were especially enjoyable. The group included the John & Barb Burkhardt, John & Diana Albright, Bob & Sherry Wilbert, Gary & Marian Cole, Harry & Tille Barthalow, Greg & Donna Bowron & Merlin, and trip hosts John & Marg Herder. John later also commented on the motels; You are exactly right about the Madison motels. The NASCAR people sucked off all the rooms. Even our hotel in Scottsburg ended up being full. Sparta, KY, is about the size of Sheridan, IN, not much there. Thanks to John H for the report and he & John B for the pictures of the weekend.
