Carmel 4th July Parade
After the 'gathering' the Corvette Indy group got going around noon and headed out of their new staging location on to the parade route. Host Gregg had elected to have a White C7 at the front followed by Red & Blue C7s for a patriotic start to the clubs procession. This was followed by the rest of the group of colorful Corvettes many adorned with American Flags and other holiday themed items. There was also the obligatory 'mickey hands' being waved by a goodly number of the group. Due to a dead battery Gregg did not bring his Corvette, so hopped in Bill's C5 Ghost and took over the camera for a number of the parade shots. A favorite of the drivers each year is passing under the huge flag being held by the Carmel & Westfield ladder trucks. Gregg was able to get a great shot as they passed directly under it this year. The crowds were as huge as ever, even going all of the way to the Carmel library to the finish of the parade. At the end each of Corvettes riders were offered a bottle of well needed water as the route had been hot during the hour plus parade. Once done about 32 members headed to Scotties Brew House for lunch, while others headed home to get ready for the Westfield Rocks the 4th Car Show yet that busy afternoon. Another great club event enjoyed by the Corvette Indy gang.
