Bookers 03/11/16

With weather forecast in the mid 60's during the week after meeting night Greg has said to Bill 'we need to check the weather this week'. Bill took Greg at his word, and once assured by the weather soothsayers that it would rain on Wednesday & Thursday to wash the streets off, then clear on Friday only for the foreseeable future Bill & Erika planned the season's first Drive N Dine. They decided to head the club favorite of Bookers in Kirklin for their all you can eat fish on Fridays. Once the invitation was sent out there were many replies with a total 23 members and 12 vehicles who enjoyed the drive on a cloudy but mid 60's day. As this was the season's first drive, the planners used old faithful Mule Barn road and then up through the twists of IN 35. Those able to attend were the hosts Bill & Erika L, Greg & Donna B, Larry & Joy G, Bob & Sherri W, Monte & Kathy H, Jim & Shelley N, Ray & Nikki H, Bob & Barb Y, Jim & Bonnie S, & Jack H all who drove their Corvettes. There were also John & Judith G (in their T-Bird) and Dick & Bonnie P in their metal car. Also Linda W met the group at the start, but headed directly to Kirklin in her SUV to do some shopping and meet the rest there. Once at the restaurant Steve H and Mary M joined us, with Mary being our only true Hookey Player on this Retirees & Hookey Player Drive N Dine. A majority of the group had the fish special with others enjoying a variety of meals offered in this small town establishment. Everyone had a great time and several discussed that there will need to be a return trip in the near future.
