More Visits to the National Corvette Museum
Janet & Gary McIntyre checked out the new banners too. Be sure to ask Gary about his work during the updating of the Corvette plant. Probably can't tell all, but has a few news tidbits might be yours.

NCM Banner Check 8/29
Wylie and Rita stopped at the NCM while on vacation to find our new banner that was just put up. He reported that you couldn't ask for a better spot. Very first flag pole when you pull in the driveway.

Tail of the Dragon 07/13
New members Tim & Emily Johnson were at the Tail of the Dragon in July, obviously making good use of their Corvette going through the twisty roads. A real nice way to introduce yourself to the club.

Noelle's Garage Mate 07/29
The Jim & Shelley had an over night visit from Randy and Sherry Sprague who had been touring the area along with Sherry's sister's Texas Corvette Club. The pictures prove they made it to Noelle's new house. While in the Charlotte area they also got a chance to tour Rick Hendrick's private collection of Corvettes.Unfortunately no cameras, phones, or other recording devices are allowed, so no pictures but talk to Sherry or Randy and you will know they were there!

Chicago & Doobie Brothers at Klipsch - 07/14
Look who I ran into at the Chicago/Doobie Brothers concert Friday night what a great time with great music!!
From Bill & Cheryl Reynolds with neighbors after they ran in to Wylie & Bill. Wylie had asked Bill to go along and use Rita's ticket as her about to be replaced knee was bothering her. Wylie is a great Chicago fan as he was living there when the group began some 50 years ago! A great night with the Doobie Brother doing a hour and 15 minute warm up followed by over 2 hours of great music by Chicago.

Test Test - Radio Test 06/12
On Monday 6/12 a small group of members got together to test radios used in caravans. With two of the group having HAM licenses we can say the tests were 'professionally' done. The group met at our Drive N Dunk McAlister's and of course had lunch. Then John Vess (long time licensed HAM) headed down 96th street and stopped at different intervals to see how the multiple radios worked. Those helping out were Jim Shaver, Gary & Marion Cole, William Arnold (our other licensee), Bill Lapham, and Wylie Etscheid. The multiple test confirmed our past knowledge that the radios are basically good for 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile and there are better units of the hand held units.

Kokomo's Car Museum 03/26
John & Diana Albright sent in the following: We visited Kokomo's car museum yesterday and thought maybe some of the folks might want to stop by on the way back from our northern Indiana trip on July 30. There is only one display you can touch and sit in, the Tin Lizzy. It is not a long visit but enjoyable and informative, $4 for entry for over age 55 and for AAA members, $5 otherwise. Hours are 10:00 to 4:00, closed on Monday.

Jimmie D at Ron Fellows in Pahrump NV - 01/23 & 01/24
Jimmie & Donna headed to Nevada on what turned out to be a cold week. He still got his runs in including the one with the blocked windshield in a temperature of 51. Jimmie's comments as he was leaving after the second day:
Look up Spring Mountain Motor Resort. It is worth every dollar. You tube it. Look for Ron Fellows. There are several you tubes of riding the track. I am thinking this morning what the heck I am not going back on a track.
We had a Kia Forte rental. Rick the director said if the student is driving watch your speed when you leave.
We were worried about the pass we had to get through because the night before they had almost two feet of snow on the road. So I turned for the pass and headed out. That is when the Director's statement binged in my ears. I check the speedometer. The needle was going past 80 in a 70 zone and I was still feeling like was going slow.
Here is one for ya: Donna and I just counted up that each class is 20 students lasts two days. Tires only last two to three classes. They can run three classes at once. If they did that they would have 240 tires to change in a week
