Cuatro de Julio Eve Drive N Dine

In the vein of last minute Retiree and Hookey Player Drive N Dines, one was held on July 3rd evening instead of going to the planned Conner Prairie Concert to see fireworks. Due to the extreme drought the fireworks portion of the concert was cancelled. With that in mind and evening temperatures to be in the high 80's to low 90's a group decided to go for a drive and end up at Poblanos Mexican Restaurant on SR32 in Westfield. Those attending were Corvette Indy members Greg & Donna, Bill & Erika, Doug & Arminta, Mike & Linda, Rich & Suzanne, Robert with his neighbor Tammy, and Circle City members Lou, and Larry & Donna for a very nice group. The route was circuitous as 3 cars started out from Greg & Donna's house, with Greg leading they went to Bill & Erika's. From there 3 more joined in then and with Bill leading the group to Robert's house where an additional 2 Corvettes joined in for a total of 8 cars on this short Drive N Dine. Robert then led the group on a short cruise including a newly chipped and sealed county road. We know it was fresh as Robert had just run the route a few days before and all was fine. After slowly traversing the short stretch we were back on good roads and a fun drive. The restaurant we had picked was actually just a mile or so from Robert's, and had great Mexican food. With all you can eat Tacos and Margarette's every one had their fill of food for the evening. A neat way to celebrate the night before Cuatro de Julio and the events that the 4th of July will bring.
