​Angry Donkey 04/12

With members itching to get their Corvettes out, and with a couple of weeks notice, Tom & Nancy Piercy planned a Drive N Dine to the Angry Donkey in Michigantown. On a sunny but very windy afternoon the group met in the Kroger lot at 106 & Michigan Road for easy access to head North. The usual early group was there, but not Tom & Nancy as they soon showed up in their 'metal' car. This was due to their Corvette throwing a rear-end code message as they pulled out of their driveway and down the street, so they quickly took it home and switched vehicles. Once there they started have everyone sign the release as more Corvettes and a couple of metal cars rolled in. Once everyone was there the head count was 48 members in 23 Corvettes and a couple of metal cars headed out. Tom rode with Ray, while Sherry & Nancy rode in Linda's metal car. The group headed north and then over 146 to the County Line road, at which point Charlie led a small group on the scenic drive of Eagle Creek to 156 and back over to County Line. No harm as the small group caught up to the main group as they went through the 4 way stop. The group headed North until hitting IN 38 towards Kirklin. Once there the group turned towards Michigantown on 421 and were soon there. The group certainly filled the lower section of the restaurant and were greeted by the owners promising a great lunch. This was certainly correct as the group was quickly waited on and then served great food along with a number having desert to top the afternoon meal off. Everyone was on their own for heading home with most just heading down to 421 and South while a few cut East when then got back to 38 for a more rural drive. Those able to go on this first Drive N Dine of the new year were Jim & Judi Alvis, William & Sharon Arnold, Ray & Sherry Chester, Alan & Judy Carnahan, Joe & Katie Carroll, Jimmie & Donna Driscoll, Wylie & Rita Etscheid, Al Forey, Paul & Londa Habecker, Bob & Cindy Hensley, John & Marg Herder, Mark Hilligoss, Ron & Cheryl Johns, Wendell & Sheri Kegerreis, Bill & Erika Lapham, Mel & Norma Minion, Bud & Eileen Mitcheltree, Tom & Nancy Piercy, Linda Privette, Jim & Bonnie Shaver, Steve & Shelia Shepard, Charlie Sherman, Mike & Linda Tann. John Vess, Phil & Anita Vickery, Linda White, and Bob & Sherry Wilbert rounded out the list for a fun afternoon outing.
