Stream Cliff Herb Farms 08/01
With a great day weather wise John & Marg H hit it out of the park when then held their 2nd annual trip to Stream Cliff. This year's trip again started at the Bob Evans just off of I65's exit 99, a challenge to get there with major construction on I65. 14 Corvettes did arrive for the earlier start time of 8:45 due to construction rerouting on the route. While waiting for the drivers meeting John got a call from Susie & Terry who had not gotten in the local lane to make the exit so they continued on to the planned rest stop on I65. Those at the starting point were hosts John & Marg, John & Dianna A, Jim & Judi A, Bob & Jan B, John & Barb B, Jack H, Bill & Erika L, Mel & Norma M, Jim & Shelley N, Tom & Nancy P, Jim & Bonnie S, Keith & Carole S, Phil & Anita V, and Bob & Sherry W. Once underway we did meet up with Susie H & Terry S and once we got there we met up with Randy & Sherry S who had driven their new 427 limited edition convertible directly there. Once done with the MANDATORY bathroom break at the rest stop the trip went very well even with the required detours and need to drive through Seymour and it's many traffic lights. We did get separated a bit in Seymour, but were able to get back together with the main group pulling into a gas station to circle around while the stragglers caught up. Hence the several pictures of Corvettes circling at the Speedway. Once done with the twisty route we arrived 25 minutes before our lunch reservation giving everyone who needed to another bathroom break and a chance to look around. Once seated the group had a lot of time to talk as the kitchen is small and the 31 food orders at once, along with other customers somewhat slowed them down. The food and deserts were ALL worth waiting for, and no one went away hungry. Jim S even said that the trip was worth if you only got the cheesecake! After eating members wandered the gardens and some checked out the winery. We were also able to get a close up view of Sherry's new Vette, a sure future show winner. The group then started to head home with multiple routes taken by everyone as some looked for quick ways while others meandered the back roads of Indiana. Everyone had a great day, and will be looking forward to next year's trip.
