​Parky's Smokehouse 8/23

At the August 20 meeting Bill and Erika announced that they were doing a Hookey Player Drive N Dine on Thursday with the destination a secret as they had to do a pre-trips to make sure that their destination had no chip n seal or other obstructions. Good thing they did it as they had to make two route changes on Wednesday. With the weather on Thursday turning out to be "chamber of commerce" worthy a total of 16 Corvettes and 26 members left the Lapham's house a bit after 1 PM. Those able to go along with hosts Bill & Erika were Greg & Donna Bowron, Ray Chester, Phil Vickery, Jimmie & Donna Driscoll, John Vess, Keith Riley, Jim & Judi Alvis, Jim Shaver, Mark & Donna Schlichter, Wylie & Rita Etscheid. Kim Cannon, Alan & Judy Carnahan and newer members Wendell & Sheri Kegerreis, Melvin & Sandra Benn and finally fresh from 9 holes of golf Bud Mitcheltree after picking Eileen on the way to the DnD. To throw those in the group that didn't know where they were headed a very circuitous route was chosen, including a cruise through Grand Park and then over to good old Mule Barn road before heading up to IN-47. From Sheridan they headed across to Elizaville and then the back way into Lebanon and the Parky's destination. With some spirited driving or as Jim Alvis noted when he sent in his pictures "great drive today, it was fun and robust" the whole group got safely there at the 2:00 PM reservation time. Unfortunately that couldn't be said for Kim's phone as she dropped it in the parking lot and proved that the screen will break when hitting face down. With such a beautiful day the whole group headed to the patio and then spent a great couple of hours enjoying another successful drive n dine.
