2016 Spring Fling - 05/01
This year's 13th annual event sponsored by the Hoosier Corvette Club had great weather that was sunny and in the 70's. Ross Gullett sent in the following report of Corvette Indy's participation:
What started off as a potential rainy Sunday washout just 24 hrs. prior, was probably one of the best spring days so far. Spring Fling sponsored by Hoosier Corvette did a great job. CI had 20 members attend the event and was well represented at the awards table at the end. Tammy Dewitt won the C4 category, and Wylie Etscheid won the heavily contested C7 category. No doubt with some help from his Storm Trooper standing guard the entire show! The big club winner was no other than our John Rash and his C1 1960 Red Vette. It took 1st place in the C1 category, as well as "Best of Show". Corvette Indy was also able to add another "Club Participation" award to the trophy case at Penske Chevrolet. Looks like Penske will need a bigger lobby to hold all that Hardware. CI Members & especially Wylie, did a great job of also promoting our upcoming Aug 20th Corvette show for those Vette owners in attendance. The 2016 car show season has officially started, which will keep webmaster Bill busy updating our CI car show ages throughout the Summer, let's keep him really busy!!!
Wylie's additional comments to Ross's are: In attendance besides Ross and I were Marian & Gary Cole, Frank & Cathy Coolidge, Butch &Tammy DeWitt, John Rash, Paul Habecker, Al &Terri Forey, new members Brian Yeisley and Bryan Morgan, also making an appearance but not showing were Alan B. Carnahan, the Sprague's, The White's, and Pat Hogan stopping by. Also Ross got there and started socializing and forgot to register for the show (-:.
Thanks also Wylie and Ross for the pictures of the day's fun.
