Progressive Dinner
An extended Drive n Dine was had by the club starting with appetizers mid afternoon at Mel & Norma's house in Noblesville. A few drops of rain on the way caused a bit of 'spot removal' when the group arrived at the dry location. Once there the safety pin contest was started, everyone received a safety pin with the task of not saying the words 'Vette' or 'Corvette'. If you did say either of those words you lost your pin, and it wasn't long before many were pin-less. Once everyone had sampled the many appetizer offerings, and enjoyed the beautiful day on Mel & Norma's deck it was time to head to Mike and Paulette's house in Indianapolis for the main meal. This section of the drive was a nice 45 minutes or so, using many lessor traveled roads until hitting the city limits. No one got lost, even though the 'metal cars' in the group didn't always keep up. Arriving at Mike & Paulette's we then enjoyed salads and pulled pork, plus the view of the golf course in a quiet setting. From our second stop we headed to Mark & Donna's house for our dessert leg of the drive. This was a quick 30 minutes, again with no one getting lost. Once we got there we found that too many desserts were available, but we all enjoyed sampling them anyway! The safety pin contest was won by Donna, who worked very hard at not being caught saying the verboten words. As the evening wound down the group started to disperse vowing to add the Progressive Dinner as a more often event. We all give thanks to Mel & Norma, Mike & Paulette, and Mark & Donna for planning and hosting this great day of food and fun.
