El Rodeo 06/09
With a good weather Tuesday afternoon predicted Al & Terri hosted a Retirees & Hookey DnD to a mystery Mexican restaurant location. Those daring enough to head to an unknown location along with the hosts were Susie H & Terry S, Jack H, Wylie & Rita E, Bill & Erika L, Tom & Nancy P, Jim & Bonnie S, Alan & Judy C, Jim A, and Mike & Linda T. for a total of 10 Corvettes. The group was led South of the host's house and then West out to the South end of Zionsville, with everyone checking out the horse farms along the way. On the radio Rita said that she would like a stable of horses while Wylie would like a stable full of Corvettes. It was agreed by all those responding that a stable of Corvettes would be much cheaper to maintain. The drive continued North and then East to 146th Street. At this point several thought we were headed to Abuelo's, a location we had been to before. Those thoughts were soon proved wrong as we headed South on Shelbourne Road towards our originating spot. At 106th street we took the first exit off of the roundabout heading West to the location of the El Rodeo near the Marsh parking lot. This is the lot we use several times a year for trip starts. At this point Judi met Jim for lunch with us, while Mike & Linda headed off as they had another obligation that afternoon. The group headed in and were treated to a large Mexican lunch menu along with great chips and salsa to start things off. Lots of conversation including how well the past weekend's Main Event did, especially after Jim N stopped by to get the money for deposit from the 50/50 and raffles. The weekend had been very successful and Jim will have a very positive treasure report at the next meeting. The day was great and everyone left with the promise of another outing being planned for next week.
