Cedar Farm Visit 8/6
The visit to Cedar Farm for nearly 60 Corvette Indy members was certainly enjoyed by all. The afternoon hosted by Gayle Cook was a look back in to time viewing her restored Antebellum mansion and surrounding grounds. Focal points included the mansion, a unique ice house with connected milk house, one room school house, carriage house and smoke house. This along with the property which is 3000 acres of a working farm and the four rows of Cedar trees leading down to the Ohio river bank. During the tour of the property some were even treated to a string of barges fighting the current while headed upstream. The grounds also have several cabins used for guest houses and the area where Bill Cook had collected many statues and placed them in a scenic area. Be sure to read the Cedar Farm info from both the pamphlet (scanned pages below) and the linked PDF. This is a truly unique visit that was set up for us by Mary McConnell, Steve Head and the Herders.
