The first meeting of December which is also the last meeting of the year was well attended with 67 members and even 1 Corvette spied in the lot. With a Colts game on later in the evening the meeting started a bit early with only a few late arrivals missing the opening announcments. Most officers had no reports although Tammy did announce that we are officially at 304 members going in to the New Year renewals. Several thank you notes were read and will also be in the next newsletter. We also voted to make donations to Wheeler Mission and Gleansers Food Bank, as we have in past years. The Christmas party reservations are closed with 120 attending starting at 6 with dinner at 7, don't forget to bring an unwrapped toy too. Due to the first Monday of Janurary also being the official New Year's Holiday date the next meeting will be on Janurary 16. Be sure to keep an eye on your email's as there are sure to be 'dines' between now and then.
***Corvette Indy wishes you a Merry Christmas and Very Happy Holiday Season***

The second meeting of November was a lot colder with a number of members but only a few Corvettes making their way to Champps for the evening meeting. With an on time starting time and many 'No Reports' the meeting went fairly quickly. The holiday season is coming so votes were taken for the first round of charitable giving for this season of the year. With five worthy charities being named at this meeting. Greg is taking a year off from being an officer in the club and was given a plaque by Wylie for his last 5 years of service. The next major event coming up is the club's Christmas Party on December 10, the Saturday after the next meeting.

Club elections brought out over 80 members including two new ones putting us at 299 members going in to the end of year renewal time, a club and region record. With the warm and dry evening 31 Corvettes also were brought out to possibly their last meeting of the year. During the evening Jim & Shelley were given a plaque to thank them for their service to the club as they are moving to the Charlotte NC area. Once started the meeting went very quickly to the election time which slowed slightly as Sharon needs to work on her acclimation motions (Susie - you were missed). All positions for 2017 were filled except for Secretary, which is still open and available for a Corvette Indy member to become part of the club's board. The year is winding down with the December 10 Christmas party the next major club event and two meetings yet this year.

With the Corvette season getting near the end for this year 25 Corvettes and over 60 members came out for an unseasonably warm October evening. Among those there were Gavin and his dad, as his mom had contacted CI through our Facebook page. She had hoped to 'rent' a Corvette to give her 11 year old son a ride, instead he was invited to the meeting to check out the clubs Corvettes. He got to sit in and see the differences between the latest C7 Grand Sport, a supercharged C6, C5, C4, and a '70 C3. He then choose the Grand Sport as his favorite car (something about the electronics) with a trophy being presented to owner Jim, which was promptly given to Gavin, to hopefully become the first of many. Also before the business meeting there was a meeting of the Christmas party committee, with everything getting in place for the December 10th party. The main business meeting went quickly especially since the first round of nominations were then held for the upcoming 2017 officer positions. Be sure to check out the meeting minutes and consider running for an office in the club as nominations will be again open during the next meeting, with elections following.

September's second meeting again had great weather which brought out nearly 30 Corvettes and over 66 members for the evening. The meeting started out acknowledging James Burt's coveted win at the past weekends Funfest. The trophy was one of 22 given out during each day of the weekend with all of the nearly 5000 Corvettes attending daily in contention. The business meeting then continued quickly with many short or 'no report' given and wrapping up a bit after 8. Among items that were covered was the club doing their first Lawrence Central Homecoming Parade this past week and upcoming events including the SBAIN Walk-N-Roll picnic on Saturday and the region's All Corvette Day at Brown County Park on October 2. Unfortunately with Fall coming on the parking lot was dark when leaving so that members could not admire long time member Mark Hilligoss's C5 that he had purchased in Connecticut over the weekend and driven directly to the meeting.

The second meeting of August brought out just 2 Corvettes as rain was predicted and many have their Corvettes already clean for the upcoming Penske Car Show. Over 70 members did attend with reports during the meeting covering the previous couple of week's events including the Cedar Farm trip and the upcoming show and the 3 rallies that will follow it. Hopefully the rain will hold off for the huge all Corvette show being held at the Carmel American Legion on 8/20. Plans are also going forward for the trip to the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, with over 20 Corvettes going on that trip. There are also a number of events being planned for September and October, be sure the check the calendar and continue to read the emails that have changes and additions as they are scheduled.
As a reminder the next meeting will be held on the TUESDAY after Labor Day.

The first meeting of August brought out a record number of 42 Corvettes and the usual number of members that packed the back room at Champps. The meeting was called to order by President Wylie with officer reports going smoothly. Multiple upcoming events were discussed including the upcoming Antebellum Trip the following weekend, the overnight trip on the 13th to Goshen for the Elkhart to Ft. Wayne rallies, the trip to NCM at the end of August and the Club's FULL day of August 20 with the Car Show in the morning / early afternoon followed by 3 Rallies in the late afternoon. In new business Butch is now inaugural member of the new 'locked keys club' after locking his keys in his truck a few meetings ago. After the meeting everyone went out to check their Corvettes and head for home to give them a bath as they had gotten the mysterious Champps coating during the meeting time and were in desperate need of TLC.

The second meeting of July had a bit smaller member turn out and much smaller Corvette count as storms had threatened most of the afternoon. Even with the smaller group the noise level was it's usual high with many discussions going on through out the room. President Wylie brought the meeting to order and reports went fairly quickly as several officers were also among the missing. Past and new upcoming events were covered with a report that the Advance BBQ on 7/9 brought in enough money for two defibrillators to be purchased. This was good to hear as the club wanted that day's event to be successful. For the rest of July there are car shows and the Brickyard weekend coming up. Upcoming club events in August including Corvette Indy's car show, rallies, and multiple overnight trips. At the end of the meeting several birthdays were acknowledged and plans were made by several to head to the DQ as the weather had much improved.

On the special Tuesday night meeting 38 Corvettes and officially 84 but closer to 100 members attended the first meeting in July. Before the meeting Butch needed AAA assistance as his keys got locked inside his truck (thanks Susie for arranging the help) and Bill B arrived with his few days old Z06 just purchased from Penske. The meeting run by VP Greg covered a number of items including the recent Bloomington Gold events and the two large parades participated in by members. Upcoming events before the next meeting include an overnight trip to Stream Cliff Farms, a group going to the Advance IN Corvette Show, and the Anderson Corvette Association Rallies & Autocross next weekend, then possibly a burger cookout at Penske in the near future. With 276 in the club there are always plenty of members doing varied things through out the summer so continue to check out the calendar, Newsletter, and Greg's emails for the latest events that we will be enjoying.

With storms predicted only 11 Corvettes and around 70 members attended the last meeting in June.
President Wylie started the meeting a few minutes early in an attempt to beat the rain to no avail. The meeting went quickly even with several important reports including a recap of the successful Main Event Autocross, the upcoming Blooming Gold days with club workers at several locations and Corvette Indy running the Gold Autocross. It was also announced that we had finally received the Indiana Region sanctions for our August 20 Peoples Choice Car Show along with the 3 Rallies that will be held on the same day. Before the next meeting there will be two parades, the Fischer's on June 26 and Carmel's on July 4. Also announced that a DnD is scheduled to the Advance IN car show on July 9 to support the local police departments effort to buy defibrillators for their cars. In support of this worthy cause the club is also donating $500 to it. There will also be a Retirees & Hookey Players DnD to Greensburg on Thursday June 30 -- Check Greg's emails for more information. The meeting ended at 8:00, but unfortunately any Corvette that was still there can NOT say it has never been in rain.

A beautiful night brought out 29 Corvettes and a nearly full house of members and guests for the meeting the night after a successful Main Event Weekend. Our guests included Kevin, Dave, & Julie from Exotic Garage Promotions who were there to talk about the opportunity to drive a Lamborghini & Ferrari. They had given one ride to the fastest car at Main Event and another at the meeting tonight. Check out Exotic Garage for more information. We also had two new members join which brings us to membership of 270. Discussions continued about Main Event along with other recent events including how well Penske took care of all of the members for this year's IMS track events as everyone who wanted to attend was given the opportunity. A big thanks to our Sponsor Penske Chevrolet and Chevrolet's Mike Quinn for making all of the fun possible. Upcoming events include the start of the car show season with the weekend's Strawberry Fest and Bloomington Gold at the end of June where the club will run the Gold Autocross along with supplying workers for many of the other volunteer positions requested. The meeting ended before 8:30 and a contingent of Corvettes headed to the DQ for the after meeting ice cream fix.

It must be getting near true Corvette weather in Indiana as over 112 members and guests descended on the Champps backroom along with over 30 Corvettes for the second meeting in May. Among the guests were two representatives from Mecum Auctions which is on Tuesday to Saturday. After a short introduction they then surprised everyone with passes to the auction for all in attendance. A big thanks for their generosity. The meeting was run by Greg as Wylie was out of town and was a full evening with reports from Butch on plans for Main Event which is now 3 weekends away, Greg on the upcoming IMS track events on the next two weekends and other upcoming club activities. Thanks was given to the escorts for the past Saturday's caravan to the track and the upcoming two weekend's events. It was noted that they are really slammed this year due to the 100th running of the 500 and all of the events leading up to it. As always everyone is looking for safe and fun trips to and at the track. We thank our sponsor Penske Chevrolet for making these Chevrolet supported events available to as many Corvette Indy members as possible. We also had a visit from our regular server who had her 1 week old baby Xoey Marie there for all to see.

Spring in Indiana, one meeting beautiful and the next a cool evening with sprinkles. Only 7 Corvettes were in the lots but a record number of 84+ members did FILL the Champps backroom. With the room full Wylie's megaphone was put to good use by all reporting, without the siren going off. The meeting had 2 guests from Hoosier Corvette Club visit to present the club with the participation plaque from their previous day's car show. Butch had a quick report of the latest Indiana Region meeting and national NCCC meeting. Greg's report included the upcoming IMS Track event schedule, Main Event plans going forward, Bloomington Gold worker sign up and a sample of the trophies for the clubs car show in August. Plans were announced for Saturday's upcoming Vettes for Vets gathering at the Lafayette Veterans Home. At the end of the meeting Wylie was presented with a new siren-less but less powerful microphone for future use. The packed meeting ended around 8:30 with no one heading for the DQ afterwards due to the inclement weather.

With a beautiful almost summer like evening 34 Corvettes and nearly 70 members, including 2 new ones, descended on Champps for the meeting night. Around 6, with most of the members already there, a piercing alarm sound sent everyone on to the patio. The Champps personnel attempted stop it by checking their door and fire alarms to no avail. Fortunately Butch finally notice that it was Wylie's megaphone! Once silenced the group reassembled for their meals and the meeting started on time, with a Main Event planning group preceding it at 7. The meeting went smoothly with quick reports and general meeting merriment. An announcement was that made Al & Terri were grandparents again with the birth of a granddaughter a few minutes before the meeting. We also welcomed another Corvette to the club family as long time member John had just picked up his decked out Laguna Blue Z51 at Penske before the meeting. He hadn't even had time to pull off the window sticker. Be sure to check out the meeting page for pictures of it and the rest of the group there. After the meeting a dozen Corvettes and over 20 members headed to the DQ for the first after meeting ice cream fix of the 2016 season.

Spring in Indiana means wait a few minutes and the weather will change. Unfortunately for club members the first April meeting turned cold with only a hand full of Corvettes, but a packed Champps back room of members making it out. With several important votes planned the meeting moved along with the usual reports including call outs for Main Event and Bloomington Gold workers as those events are coming up in June. We finally got the list of jobs that need to be filled for Bloomington Gold, which is now in the sign up book. The two items up for vote were first changing the meeting time to 7:00 and second a change in how club points are awarded for attending and working club events. After spirited discussion on both items each one was voted down by a fairly wide margin. With poor weather forecast for the week the first planned event will be a Drive N Dine or Dine only on Saturday to Kokomo to celebrate a member's birthday. Look for club emails on the particulars of this and other upcoming events as they are planned with the weather warming up soon.

With better weather the new parking location of the South side lot had a number of Corvettes including one just purchased from Penske on Saturday! Along with the new Corvette the club gained 2 new members taking us to the mid 250's and we have not even reached driving weather! The meeting was well attended and had reports on upcoming events including the first cookout of the year to be held at Penske Chevrolet on Saturday (3/26). Stop by and join the gang having another Club blast and a hamburger too. Other upcoming events were discussed including that two of the over night trips are already 'sold out'. Planning for Main Event and Bloomington Gold's autocross are well underway, including getting all important porta potties for our new Main Event location. Be sure to check out the calendar for all of our events to plan your summer.
With better weather the new parking location of the South side lot had a number of Corvettes including one just purchased from Penske on Saturday! The first meeting in March had a 79 members sign in and 12 Corvettes out for the evening. With the weather getting better you can tell that everyone is getting anxious to get out on the roads with their Corvettes. The number attending included four new members that signed up and two more that came to their first meeting. Corvette Indy's membership total now exceeds 250. A Main Event planning meeting was held before the regular meeting started. The main meeting had a number of items covered, including the upcoming "Painting with a Twist" where those attending on April 10 will be instructed by Bill Reynolds. He even brought some samples of what had been done in his classes. Another event coming up is a cookout at our sponsor, Penske Chevrolet, on Saturday March 26. It will be another opportunity to thank them for their continued support of Corvette Indy. Before the meeting adjourned we had a inductee in to the 'battery club' as Jim's Z06 had a dead battery in his garage and Greg E was able to pass along the trophy. Stay tuned as there are sure to be new members as the season starts.

February's second meeting was still cold enough to keep the Corvettes home but over 50 members still got out for the gathering and comradeship of a Corvette Indy meeting. The meeting had an extensive report from Governor Butch including the announcement that we have secured a location to hold our Main Event on the weekend of June 4 & 5 using the parking lots near the old airport terminal. We will also be adding Special Olympics Indiana to our list of charities supported by Corvette Indy through out the year, as a connection to that charity is assisting us in getting the new location. The club has also started initial plans to again assist with the Gold Autocross during Bloomington Gold at Indianapolis. The rest of the meeting progressed quickly with discussions of upcoming events including plans by some of the members to go to the NCM Bash. Several votes will be coming up in the next few meetings including amending points that are awarded for attending Corvette Indy Events. We will also be revisiting meeting times during the year. Please read the newsletter for more information on these items.

The first meeting of February was warm enough that a couple of Corvettes came out along with a full complement of members in attendance too. Hopefully spring is just around the corner and many more Corvettes will be out and about soon. President Wyle presented newly designed pins to the officers and others that had served the club in 2015. These were designed by Ross, and there are also new pins available to club members, check out the Club Merchandise page for more information. Plans are going forth for Main Event, with a new location to be firmed up by our second meeting in February. So now is the time to start getting door prizes for both Main Event and the Penske Car Show. Planning for a weekend trip to NCM in August was announced, which is just one of the events planned for the 2016 year. Keep checking the club calendar and newsletter for announcements of additional events.

Even with an evening near zero there were still 60 hardy Corvette Indy members enjoying the brand new furniture in the back room of Champps. The new furniture is part of a continuing make over of the whole restaurant which also included a much warmer back room than the past few meetings. The meeting itself started a bit early with short reports including NCCC Governor Butch saying that we have a potential location for Main Event which will remain on it's scheduled weekend. Upcoming events include Saturday's 4th Annual Winter Party and initial planning for our two big summer projects of Main Event and Penske Sponsored Car Show. There was also a thank you note from our main charity Spina Bifia for the latest donation. At the end of the meeting Bill was presented with the travelling battery club trophy due to needing a jump for the Trailblazer after the last club meeting. The meeting ended with everyone getting safely started and on their way home.

On the first meeting of the new year the gavel was handed over by our past president Pat to Wylie our latest president of the club's 27 year span. The meeting went quickly once underway with Wylie using his megaphone to keep everyone's attention. Discussion included talking about the families the club helped over Christmas and the need for more of that to be done in the future. Governor Butch announced that we need to find a new Main Event location as Lincoln Tech has decided to no longer allow the use of their parking lot. Upcoming events include the 4th Annual January Winter party and the Elvis Review to soon be enjoyed by many members. Remember that there is now a second meeting in both January and February.
