Long Way to Parky's
On Friday October 17 Bill & Erika held a Retirees & Hookey Player Drive N Dine to Parky's in Lebanon as the weather forecast was for the possibly only non rainy day of the week. First to arrive was Greg T, who proudly displayed his new graphics that had just been finished the day before. He has lost his yellow whiskers and now has carbon fiber additions. He also had custom 'Jake' emblems made for his wheel center caps and side pillar in the same material, a real good look. Then Cathy C (a true hookey player) & her friend Donna along with Dick & Bonnie pulled up followed by Jack H, who had hustled house guests out of the house so he could come along. The group was then joined by Bob & Barb Y, as Barb was getting a well deserved Friday off. This made a total of 6 Corvettes and 10 members and friends on the drive. The direct distance is around 18 miles, but that was more than doubled by a trip up Eagle Creek, then on to Mule Barn Road, north through Sheridan to IN-38 up to Kirkland and then new country roads back to Elizaville Road and on in to Parky's. A fun way to get there with lots of curves and open roads. Once at Parky's the group was met and seated by the owner who mentioned that the Lafayette Corvette Club had been there earlier in the week, but without their Corvettes as it was raining. He later surprised us when he brought the table a complementary order of fried mushrooms, a big hit with the group. The day's luncheon stretched out until 4, with the group finally heading for home. As they were leaving Bob was showing off his latest additions to the C7 of front splitter, side skirts and extended mud flaps which he had purchased and had installed while at Fun Fest. When they headed out the clouds were rolling in but no Corvettes got wet on this day out. The season is winding down so everyone was glad to have this day's drive.
