Main Event Preparation
On Wednesday, June 5, a group of four couples met at Robert's house to assemble and catalog the items for goodie bags, raffles and door prizes. When we first got there we were waylay-ed by an extra Corvette in Robert's garage, a 1013 Night Blue Coupe, which had his LAN SHARK plate on it. Unfortunately it was just visiting for the day as Judie had brought it home from work for the day and he had put his 2012 plate on to try to fool the rest of us. It did look good in Robert's garage though, and would be a great replacement for Judie's Camaro.
Those helping Robert & Judie out were Greg & Donna, Jim & Shelley, and Bill & Erika. At first the piles of items seemed somewhat daunting, but soon systems were set up where one group created the driver and worker goodie bags, while the other group decided what would be driver door prizes verses raffle items. The whole project took less than an hour & half once started with the results being 50 driver goodie bags, 50 worker goodie bags, over 45 items for door prizes and over 25 items for raffles, including the $500 Discount Tire gift certificate to be raffled off separately. Once the group was done we immediately had to turn it in to a mini drive n dine to McAlister's on 146 street. When does a Corvette Indy get together not include a food run?
Later that evening Bill & James got together to work on the timing practice and creating spare cables for the event.
