C6 Spring Bling
Greg's 2010 Vette was too stock so it got some changes. First to go were the stock wheels and Goodyear runcraps. Our friends at Discount Tire replaced them with a set of chrome aftermarket wheels and upgraded the rubber to Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus, Zero Pressure. You may have already noticed he painted the calipers blue to coordinate with the car. While he had the wheels off it only made sense to replace the stock brake pads with some Hawk ceramic pads for better stopping and lower dust. Noise is always an issue so off with the stock exhaust and on went a set of Corsa's. A nice improvement but a little quieter then he likes so he's asking himself why he didn't do with Borla's? Greg's car would not be his if it didn't have a wee bit of the Irish on it so a chrome ND badge on each front fender and one in back to catch the attention of any "haters" that are following. Of course his trade mark license plate... doesn't matter what combination he happened to use on this Vette, can you say "GO IRISH"? Of course Greg needed some of those real bright LED taillights for safety and some chrome trim rings around them. Next some simpler mods were done like the addition of chrome trim around the side marker lights, some chrome around the back-up lights and a chrome letter set on the back. He also added some chrome trim around the door handles. A set of silver CORVETTE letters were added across the front windshield to help educate the general public that might not know. If you look close you will notice the Corvette badges on the front, back and interior were slightly modified to fly Old Glory and if you look closer you'll observe some additional chrome accents were installed below the front and back badges. That console cushion was hard on the old elbow so on with a padded cover and why not personalize it with an embroidered picture of the car? A few chrome caps helped the engine compartment shine. Speaking of shine, since spring is almost here, Greg's son clay barred the paint and added 2 coats of Xxponet polish to make the Vette look its very best. Waiting to be installed are some hood accents, color coordinated letters for the dash and a chrome front grill. Maybe tomorrow? Will there be more mods? Set your clock by it, that's why this is called part one. Greg is thinking the engine bay needs a little more bling.
