National Hamburger Day
With the Thursday 5/28 weather forecast calling for a dry and warm day Bill & Erika planned a Retirees & Hookey Players Drive N Dine with no destination in mind. Little did they know that they would be able to celebrate National hamburger Day!. This was discovered when a Max & Erma's email came with their $5 cheeseburger offer for that day only. With that in mind the assembled group of Jim & Shelley N. John & Marg H, Greg & Donna B, and Pete D headed out behind the hosts Bill & Erika in their '70 Coupe. Of course the direct route of around 5 miles turned in to an 18 mile trip which included driving by the many new assisted living buildings being built in the Westfield and Carmel areas. Greg commented that he would not be ready to move in to one until he 'drooled', although he was asked if 'dribbling' would be enough. It would not be. Upon arrival to Max & Erma's the parking was plentiful and the hungry group headed in for their hamburgers. After a bit Terry & Susie joined the party as Susie had been to another retirement luncheon. She had worked for a few months this spring getting graduation events under control so was celebrating that she was again done. Topics were varied with Rita's week being talked about as she had several appliances break down and a racoon caught in a cage on their deck. The after lunch dinning experience was enhanced when Susie ordered cookies for everyone to enjoy, a great way to end another Corvette Indy day.
