Indiana / Michigan Challenge - Labor Day Weekend 2015
The three day event was back over the Labor Day Weekend of September 5 - 7 with a number of competitors from both states at the Tire Rack track in South Bend. Corvette Indy club was represented by Frank & Cathy as competitors and Butch & Tammy doing corner worker duties. All four had a great time with Cathy winning 18 or the 21 events. This will certainly help her with her quest for a good finish in the women's region rankings at the end of the year. Before the weekend's events she was #3 on the list.

Tammy's Report and Pictures
Only Coolidge's (racing) & DeWitt's (working) travel up from CI for tire rack events in South Bend
Butch made sure to bring his big corner working chair; which Cathy C & Cynthia W had to try out.
Day 1
They ran the track in reverse to the typical direction in the past and we didn't even get 2 heats in and we had to stop for thunderstorms & lightening...so it was a perfect time for an early lunch break of hot dogs, chips, desserts & drinks provided by Elkhart members. Once racing began again it was slip sliding away until the track was dry enough to re chalk the pylons causing another short break. Now the sun is out and track is hot once again!
Day 2
No weather issues, had a few bugs in timing Elkhart provided a wonderful lunch of BBQ pork with 3 homemade side; slaw, macaroni salad & potato salad, chips & desserts and the day ended earlier than yesterday's restarted even with the Indiana Michigan fun challenge.
Day 3
They started the day with complimentary donuts & coffee and the news that they reversed the track back to the standard direction a lot fun was had by all for a great three day weekend of racing!
