Great Pumpkin Weekend 10/22 & 23
With great weather for the annual late October event this year's Great Pumpkin weekend was enjoyed by everyone who attended including one of our FCOA members. For the five autocross events held on Saturday at Grissom Butch DeWitt and Cathy Coolidge both drove while Tammy DeWitt worked staging and Keith Riley posted times. The afternoon was a little long with the the runs being done around 4. The evening rallies had a chili and hot dog dinner before the start with Bill & Erika Lapham plus Tad DeWitt and his daughter Araya making their way for the meal and the two rallies that followed. Araya also enjoyed all of the exhibits in the Grissom Museum. The poker rallies went well with only one competitor getting slightly lost. The results were close with Bill & Erika getting a third in one with pair of aces - jack high to another pair of aces - queen high and a two pair hand. This was one of their better draws through out the year, but assuredly not enough to knock the DeWitt's out of their first place position in Indiana region rallies. On Sunday Butch & Kathy competed again while Tammy again handled staging while Bill worked a corner for the seven events run. Also competing over the weekend were new Corvette Indy members Tanner, Duane, & Ed Everhart who still run under their Lafayette NCCC numbers but will hopefully convert to CI for next year.
The day ran extremely long with a number of reruns due to timing issues. The weather was beautiful though with bright sun and warm temperatures which helped everyone enjoy the last events of the season.
