Shiner Pride Car Show 07/07
A small group of members got up in the wee hours of Sunday morning to head South East to Rising Sun Indiana for the annual car show that supports the Fundraiser for Shiner Pride Marching Band. This year the group consisted of Wylie Etscheid, Paul Habecker, Al Forey, Bill & Cheryl Reynolds, and Chris & Paula White. The afternoon was sunny and Wylie & Chris did the best of the group as they received the Best in Class for Mustangs, Camaros, Dodge Hemis and Corvettes. Wylie for 2009-2019 and Chris in 1994-2008 class with both having lots of tough competition. While Al, Paul, and Bill all received top 10 trophies to round out individual ones. With the good number of members there the club received the huge Club Participation one. Looks like it is good Rita didn't go as she would not have had a ride home with all of he trophies in the front seat.
Al Forey sent in the following write-up: This years Rising Sun car show was held on a toasty but dry Sunday June 7.
The number of cars at the show seemed to be less than last year however the quality was high as we have learned to expect. All cars were placed in classes by age (with no regard for Corvette exclusivity). All of us were competing against each other as well as others. After the obligatory re-detail after driving 150 miles, we sat under canopies and just waited. At 4:30 awards were presented from the large gazebo near the Ohio river. Our first award was for car club most represented-naturally Corvette Indy! The club trophy was large and probably won’t fit in the trophy case at Penske. Individual class winners were as follows: Bill & Cheryl Reynolds - class, Al Forey - class, Chris & Paula White - Best in their class, Paul Habacker - class, Wylie - Best in his class.
Home by 8:00 time to extricate less fortunate bugs from the front of the cars.
Pictures below are from several of the participants and the club will enjoy the best represented club trophy.
Be sure to check the second gallery of over 80 pictures sent in by Al taken during the day.
That is what happens when you have a lot of time between cleaning / judging / trophies.
