Autocross at Lincoln College
On Sunday August 4 Corvette Indy and the Indiana Region held an autocross as a followup to the Saturday Corvette driving school, also held at the Lincoln College of Technology parking lot. The single day, with 4 events, still had a total driver count of 25 drivers, with several doing their first autocross as a result of taking the previous day's classes. Corvette Indy members that worked the event were Jim W, Barry R, Butch & Tammy D, Bill & Erika L, Bill & Cheryl R, Jim S (the day's photographer too), Bonnie H. and Bill Z (who is also our representative with the college). Members who did double duty as worker and driver were Mike G, Greg T, and Cathy & Frank C, the last three doing their first official runs. We also had a few members come by to see the event including Greg B, and Rich & Suzanne B. The corner workers and other positions were augmented by members from other Indiana Region clubs and we certainly thank those people for their assistance. The event went well and with the low car and event count we were able to give each entrant 3 runs, for a total of 12 during the day almost as many as on a Main Event day. Even with the extra runs the day was done by 2, which allowed everyone to head for home and enjoy the rest of their day.
It was very rewarding to see the enjoyment of the new competitors and we hope to see them at other events.
