Penske Car Show

This year on June 21 our sponsor Penske Chevrolet held its Corvette Indy Appreciation Car Show for the members and invited guests. This year's show was Corvettes only  and held from 5 - 8pm, after Saturday business hours, to allow the club full access to their show room. The space was well used as there were around 80 Corvettes on display in their cleared lot west of the showroom, and well over 100 members using the air conditioning inside. After Pam's successful severing of taco salad at this year's Main Event it was decided that it would make a great meal for the club at the car show. With Penske's funding, Pam with the help of Donna and Erika purchased the fixings including 32 pounds of ground beef. Then the 3 ladies had the beef ready in crock pots for the evening meal after making all three of their houses have a taco fragrance. It was enjoyed by all, along with cake for everyone. Then, since it was Jeff's birthday, Charity brought in two DQ ice cream cakes to finish off everyone's sugar high. Along with the food, Penske also supplied the plentiful soda and water to quench everyone's thirst. When it came time for trophies Penske had their top 10 choice awards which were given out first. Then, with this year being the club's 25 Anniversary, it had been decided that each Corvette in the show should get a trophy commemorating the club's 25 year. So everyone who registered received trophies, even two new couples that signed up on Saturday! Once the presentations were done and a few more pictures taken the members headed for home.
Again our club thanks Bret Rozzi and his staff for turning the dealership over to the club for a GREAT summer evening!
Also special thanks to Charlie and John who stayed for the entire event, selected the Penske Top Ten Awards and John provided the music.
