​Bookers Buffet I 04/29

With April finally starting to warm, although the morning had a record cold temp of 30, the Kellam's hosted a Sunday morning drive to Bookers in Kirklin for their monthly brunch. Leaving from the McClure's at US 31 & 216 street a group of 11 Corvettes met for the quick drive there. Along with hosts Jim & Pam were Greg & Donna Bowron, Ray & Sherri Chester, Paul & Londa Habecker, David & Jody Hall. Bob & Cindy Hensley, Bill & Erika Lapham, John & Ruth Vess, Jimmie & Donna Driscoll, Keith & Jan Riley, Shirley Berry (who is just back from FL at the beginning of the week). While on the drive up the outside temps got to 47 and after brunch into the 50's as a precursor of the warming week to come. After arriving two more Corvettes joined the group with John & Diana Albright coming from the North and Mark & Donna Schlichter (newly arriving back from wintering in Phoenix) from the West side of Indy. Once at the restaurant the group waited outside on the sunny street until the doors opened exactly at 11. Brunch was just as great as previous times there, with cooked to order omelets along with many other items on the full buffet. After eating Shirley found a number of hats to model for the group, to the enjoyment of all. Once done some of the group checked out the many shops of Kirklin while others took leisurely drives home.
