​Main Event Sunday 06/09

After the long day on Saturday the Corvette Indy workers along with most of Saturday's competitors returned to Grissom Areoplex for another day of autocross fun. Unfortunately the predicted rain did come in over night and the track was extremely wet, with a constant drizzle in the morning. Due to the conditions the track was shortened to allow quicker running of the day's events as more rain was predicted in the afternoon. Blowing the track dry did help a bit before starting and the track was somewhat dry during the first runs of the seven events that started around 10. As the first round was closing out near 1 harder rain came back in and most competitors just took a few of their second round runs as times were going up due to the slick conditions.. After replenishing supplies, as on Saturday, lunch was served to all of the competitors and workers with the hot hamburger and dogs appreciated by the damp assembled group. The last runs were done by 2 pm with the equipment trailer packed and rolling by around 3 for another successful Main Event weekend for the 30th time. Again thanks to all of the Corvette Indy members that make this event possible and truly appreciated by the competitors that come to our events.
