Jim A's View of Bloomington Gold
Our club's former professional photographer got to enjoy all three days of Bloomington Gold and the many sites of Corvettes in all of their beautiful splendor. Here are his comments with the first 11 pictures from Thursday and the rest from the dry day of Saturday:
The 2017 Bloomington Gold centered around the 50th anniversary of the 1967 Sting Rays. To that end, the Gold Collection 1967 featured eight of the twenty L88s that were produced, and over 40 high horsepower, significant coupes and convertibles. Also of particular interest were the 1953 'Cutaway' Corvette, #003, and the 1965 and 1969 'see-thru' Corvettes. It was the first time all three appeared at the same time. The Indiana Region of National Council of Corvette Clubs hosted the always popular autocross again this year. On Thursday our own Jim Shaver is placing stickers on event cards as folks finished their two laps around the oval.
The last pictures is from Wylie as he and the Rothrocks had dinner at Ricks with the Simply Corvette Group.
