Beef House on a Wet Afternoon 10/11
Tom and Nancy Piercy planned their annual trip to the Beef House in Covington with anticipated good weather in the long term forecast. Unfortunately the day of was the first rainy day in weeks. Due to the rain being forecast they sent out an email that said members could drive their metal cars if they felt better about doing that. Subsequently only 4 Corvettes started from the Kroger lot with 3 more joining the group at the Crawfordsville for a total of 7 out of the roughly 17 that made the trip. The first part of the trip to the McDonald's meeting spot used the route that Tom & Bob had pre run on a very sunny Wednesday. While at the stop it was decided to just take the interstate directly there to make up some time. Unfortunately Tom had found out only that morning that he had to be back in Carmel for an unplanned doctor appointment by 4:30, so they led the group to the restaurant and once all were seated quickly headed back home. As it turned out it was good that we had taken I-74 to the Beef House as there was an accident on the East bound lanes. Without that knowledge they would have been held up in the traffic jam had they not taken IN-136 as an alternative route that was suggested by the members from Crawfordsville. For the rest of the members, they all had a great lunch as one always does at the famous Beef House. Once done the group individually headed for home with most taking the alternate, and pretty route back to Crawfordsville and then on to home.
