Squealers 09/03/14
A mostly sunny day in the 80's and it just called for a Retiree & Hooky Players' Drive N Dine so Greg & Donna called for a 1:30pm start from their house. The gang arrived on time and were treated to Merlin's 2ND "public" Frisbee exposition. The furry little guy did well and focused on the floating round saucer and not the spectators and caught everything that Greg managed to throw straight! He misjudged the one that curved foul and bounced off the bricks but if Greg doesn't learn to throw better he will probably learn how to catch those too! He did scoop one low throw up just before it bit dust like any good shortstop would! The only thing that seemed to refocus him was when Rita opened the locked Vette door and set off the horn alarm. Still he caught the throw but then dropped it and stared at the Vette as if to try and figure out what the heck all the commotion was. The caravan left with Alan & Judy C, Jack H, Jim & Shelley N, Linda W, Phil & Anita V, Dean & Zoe D and Wylie & Rita E in tow. They chased Greg & Donna north up Spring Mill road and west on 106th all the way to Zionsville Road. Even a detour at 96th Street and Zionsville didn't deter the group as they just dropped down to 86th Street and over to Moore Road before hitting the open country around the Eagle Creek area. (Note from one of the other drivers: hmmmm....seems our illustrious leader neglected to report the ability to lead us on to roads that have not only patched potholes, but a several layered version of patched potholes.)
After hitting some of the curves and only one stop, to clear a fallen limb from the road, they squealed to a stop for some barbeque at Squealers. After some great food and even better conversation highlighted by Shelley's advice on how to clean out a swimming pool and Alan's jailhouse rock story everyone headed for home with smiles on their faces!
