Cammack Station
On August 12, on a great Sunday afternoon, a group met at Bill & Erika's to take a scenic drive to Cammack Station which is on the outskirts of Muncie. The group included Bill & Erika, Doug & Arminta, Jim & Pam, Pat & Carolyn, Dean & Zoe, and Brent taking the whole trip with Randal meeting us at the station. The route went north to 236th street, across through Cicero and on to Strawtown road and then 8th street towards Anderson. From 8th we turned north on 500 W towards Frankton, east from there east on SR128 to SR9N. Normally we would keep going across 800N, but due to bridge repair we went North on 9, with Brent taking the lead as he knew a nice road to use. Using his county road for the detour we ended up back down to McGallard road (800N), but not before encountering a not so nice road. We all made it, without any real scrapping of the air damns. Once back on McGallard road which turns into SR332 we continued on to Cammack Station route. Once we arrived we met up with Randal, who had already sampled the food. The rest of us made our orders and then had a great time discussing everything from other Drive N Dines to the club's racing days. Also we all enjoyed the atmosphere of the station with all of it's signs and old gas pumps and other memorabilia, as the pictures show. Once we were done, those that did not live near by headed back down I69 to SR38, with Pat & Carolyn heading home on I69. The rest made the drive across SR38 and to their homes in the Westfield and Carmel area. Another fun day was had by all, with a day finally that was also not in the 90's. We are all looking forward to next week's DnD.
