Matt the Miller's Tavern

On Friday October 18, Jim & Judi A led their first Retirees & Hookey Players Drive N Dine to Matt the Miller's Tavern in the Carmel City Center. Using a great spot to meet at of Founders Park off of Hazel Dell Parkway just north of 116th street, the group totaled 11 Corvettes and 20 people on the drive, with Greg B stopping by to see everyone off. Along with hosts Jim & Judi A were members Dean & Zoe D, Bill & Erika L, Jim & Shelley N, Dick & Bonnie P, Mel & Norma M, Rich P, Mike T, Wylie & Rita E, Chris & Paula W. and guests Phil Vi & Anita S with their C7 coupe. The weather was beautiful being an early Fall day, with lots of sun and little wind. One can tell though that the days are getting shorter and will soon not allow these drives. Once under way we headed North and wound our way around the Cherry Tree named roads up to SR32 and them back down River Road to 146, to Hazel Dell and then 126 street to the City Center. Once there we parked on the upper lever, being careful to stay away from the fountain in the center! Our hosts had reserved a side room that easily held the group at Matt the Miller's, a new destination for many of the group. The meals were great along with the conversations around the different tables. Jim & Judi received a lot of praise for having a very good first drive by all of those that attended.
