Breakfast at Bread Basket Cafe 10/29
Janet McIntyre led her first Retirees & Hookey Player Drive N Dine, this is her write-up of the drive:
It was a beautiful day, not because the sun was shining...because it wasn't, but because I got to lead my first Drive n Dine with my Corvette Indy friends & family. We gathered at Trader's Point on 86th St and headed to Danville, IN to the Bread Basket Cafe & Bakery, my most favorite breakfast spot. Our pre-arranged parking in the Huntington National Bank parking lot was welcomed by the employees. Their mini "car show" included nine Corvettes and a couple metal cars. Once parked, we safely crossed US 36 on our brisk walk on the quarter of a block trek to the restaurant. (Speaking of safety, unfortunately, Greg & Donna Bowron were unable to complete the Drive n Dine route due to a tire meeting metal incident (turned out to be an errant Allen wrench puncturing their run flat tire). Thankfully, they were able to return home without complications, but we missed them joining us.)
The cafe was ready & waiting our arrival of 16 club members and four guests. Those in attendance included Ray & Sherry Chester, Mark & Jan Rothrock, Mike & Linda Tann, Jimmie & Donna Driscoll, their daughter.. Heather, John Vess, Linda White, Don Sharp & guest, Jim Shaver (the day's photographer), Keith Riley, his friend..Anita, Pat & Terri Cota (new members...1st DnD), myself & my son...Garrett. As always, the servers were pleasant and attentive. Many positive comments were made regarding the delicious food and several additional purchases of bakery items were made as well. Thank you to Jinayla and her staff for providing us a great dining experience. I appreciate everyone who participated and helped to make my first Drive n Dine a successful one, especially my navigator, Garrett.
