2nd Annual Memorial Picnic
This year's picnic was held on Sunday October 21, again in the Cherry Tree pavilion at Fort Harrison State Park. The day was as beautiful a day as can be asked for in the fall, with the sun shining and temperatures flirting with 70 degrees. The organizing group had everything ready for a little after noon start with Brent remembering our past members and Diana led us in grace. The club again supplied hamburgers and hot dogs along with chips and drinks. Members filled up several picnic tables with salads and deserts. It can be said that no one went home hungry, unless they were trying to diet! Once the meal was over Brent got some bean bag boards out, so that he and Butch could continue to refine their skills in anticipation of next year's Brown County fun day competition. We were also introduced to Corvette Indy's newest young member, Bus, Pam & Jim's new puppy who will be greeting us at next year's fall bonfire. He is small now, just 7 weeks old, but Pam promises that he will tip the scales in the 200 lb range when grown up. It will be fun to see him grow up over the coming years. Everyone enjoyed themselves and said that we should even consider doing a picnic in the Spring to kick the season off.
