Drive to Metamora
Bluegrass Festival – Wounded Warrior Project” trip to Metamora
On June 28, a rather humid day, CI members Chris & Paula W hosted a drive down to Metamora for a fundraiser for the Wounded Warrior Program. The hosts met Randy & Sherry S, Jeff B & Charity N, Terry A & his grandson, at the Cracker Barrel on I-74 for a hearty breakfast before the drive down. Once done eating Alan & Judy C, Rick H along with new members Doug & Gail B met out in the parking lot to sign the waiver and then head down. About half way there it started to rain on and off but nobody melted. After arriving in Metamora, we met up with the Indiana Patriot Guard who "led" the caravan down to the parade grounds where we were welcomed and set up out tents to escape from the rain. It was rather humid but a cool breeze would blow through and cool everyone off. The women went down to the stores while the men stayed and chatted. Afterwards the group drove a rather nice windy road that tested the Corvette handling and arrived at the Cricket Ridge Country Club Golf Course for a nice relaxing dinner. Several members stood on the dock and fed the fish that anxiously waiting. One of the topics at dinner was the Rising Sun car show next weekend.
