Pace Car Rained Out Reveal 05/05

Thirty Corvette Indy members were signed up to make the drive downtown for this prestigious event. Unfortunately it had to be called off due to the rainy weather that put a damper on part of the planning for the Indy Pace Car Reveal Press Conference on Friday when it forced cancellation of the outdoor event and moved it inside to the Bakers Life Field house. Had the sun been shining the 30 Corvette Indy Vettes would have gone downtown under a Police escort to park as a display on a closed off Georgia Street as a backdrop to the announcement of the 2017 Corvette Grand Sport Indy 500 Pace Car. The club is extremely grateful to... Chevrolet for asking us to participate in this event and we are disappointed for Chevrolet that all their hard work and planning got altered by the monsoon like rains we've been getting. It was an event we were looking forward to and it would have been great fun. We are always ready to support our friends at Chevrolet and our great sponsor, Penske Chevrolet. That said the Press Conference was a great success and Chevrolet once again hit a home run when they brought out the beautiful Corvette Grand Sport Pace Car. A terrific design and a fantastic sports car. Thank you Chevrolet.
